I really expected to make regular posts...but it turns out internet availability was an issue despite my providers assurances I would have unlimited internet in 144 countries with my plan and didn't need to unlock my phone for the EU. What they failed to tell me is it was 2G or 3G never 4G and this prevents most activity on the internet. So here I sit in an IKEA with free WIFI, while waiting for a package trade off while my battery runs down and no wall plug...lol. Warsaw is beautiful! There are so many views of cobble streets and lovely old buildings calling for painting, now, if the weather would only change. I should have packed some warmer clothes, the humidity is high here and you feel the cold. Airports: DIA was good, short line for the international customs check...just wish we would have known about needing the gate passes for the kids so they could come with me...we had to wait in line 2 times...lol.
The short trip to Chicago was iffy for a bit too...apparently the 'option' to choose seats for extra money should not be treated as an option...pay extra and reserve a seat....the airlines always overbook...just because you have a ticket doesn't mean you have a flight..fyi...I did get on, but i could have been bumped. Chicago was crazy...the 4 hour layover was almost not enough to make my flight...enough said.. Polish ailines were great! The new 787 have tons of carryon space and are very quiet the hosts were friendly, the food was good. I slept almost the entire flight! My First Blog! My First Post! ROAD TRIP!
The Road Not Taken Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair And having perhaps the better claim, Because it was grassy and wanted wear; Though as for that the passing there Had worn them really about the same, And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black. Oh, I kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way, I doubted if I should ever come back. I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I -- I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference. -Robert Frost |
